The Bořek Šípek Gallery cordially invites you to the sales exhibition of academic painter Iveta Lederer entitled Je mi cťou / It’s an Honor. The exhibition was opened on November 7, 2018 and will run until May, 1, 2019. The artist presents her paintings which always surprise. Nowadays she creates “paintings which feature space”, i.e. 3D paintings with several layers printed on optic material. This technique is rare in Slovakia, and Mrs. Lederer is still the only one in our country who can prepare these paintings in the required quality. This exhibition also features technological novelties, new compositions, graphic works and paintings printed directly on aluminum, as well as the artwork which in September 2018 won the main prize at Art Expo International in Ingolstadt, Germany. She also won the BEST ARTIST award at the same exhibition in 2017.
We are proud to host such an exceptional artist as Iveta Lederer. “The work of this significant artist could be characterized in simple terms as the intersection of various techniques – her style has been imprinted in textile tapestries, classical lace in combination with glass, clothing, compositions of prints and pictures in motion. She likes to shift artwork in different dimensions and perhaps only few people know that her textile tapestry made of velvet ribbons decorated the wall at the Autumn Salon of Art in Paris in 1984.”
Academic painter Iveta Lederer lives and works in Bratislava. She graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
Since 1978, she has had dozens of solo fashion exhibitions in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, France, Spain and India.
In 1985 she started her own fashion line and she created clothing for ladies and gentlemen under the Lederer brand.
Since 2010 she has been teaching part time at the Design Institute of the Faculty of Architecture at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
She has also been teaching part time at the Department of Stage Design at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava since 2012.
Ms. Lederer is an expert in the field of social etiquette and dressing culture in the training of representatives of culture and public life and diplomats.
